National liberation day is the day that Korea restored the from the Japanese colony on15th of August, 1945.
It's called Gwangbokjeol in Korean. It means the day the light came back. It probably means light of freedom came back to Korean.
광복절은 1945년 8월 15일 한국이 일제의 식민지에서 해방된 날이다. 한국어로는 광복절이라고 합니다. 그것은(광복절은) 빛이 돌아온 날이라는 뜻이다. 그것은 아마도 한국에 자유의 빛이 돌아왔다는 의미일 것이다.

Korean honor people who fought for the independence of the country on Gwangbokjeol. Some were died, killed or injured by Japanese while they fought for national freedom. Ryu Gwan sun, Ahn Jung guen and Kimgu were Korean indepedence activists and nationalists.
 
한국사람들은 광복절에 조국의 독립을 위해 싸운 분들을 기억합니다. 일부는 민족의 자유를 위해 싸우다 일본인에 의해 사망, 살해,  또는 부상을 입었습니다. 유관순, 안정근, 김구는 독립운동가이자 민족주의자였습니다.
 

Ryu Gwan sun is the symbol of the March first movement. She was only 16 years old when she organized the event. She was imprisoned for that event by Japanese soldiers and rest of her family were killed. Even she was locked in prison, she never gave up to declare the liberation for her own country. She passed away because of the harsh torture by Japanese in prison.
 
유관순은 3·1 운동의 상징입니다. 그녀가 이 행사를 조직했을 당시 그녀의 나이는 고작 16세였습니다. 그녀는 그 사건으로 인해 일본군에 의해 투옥되었고 나머지 가족은 살해당했습니다. 그녀는 감옥에 갇혔음에도 불구하고 조국의 해방을 선언하는 일을 결코 포기하지 않았습니다. 그녀는 감옥에서 일본인들의 모진 고문으로 세상을 떠났습니다.
 

An Jung Guen is known for his assassination of the Japanese prime minister, Ito Hifobumi. Kimgu is another historical person for liveration of Korea. He moved to China and established the provisional government of Korea. He helped other Korean activists for independence.
 
안중근은 일본 총리 이토 히로부미를 암살한 인물로 유명합니다. 김구는 한국 광복의 또 다른 역사적 인물입니다. 그는 중국으로 건너가 대한민국 임시정부를 수립하였습니다. 그는 다른 한국 독립운동가들을 도왔습니다.
